TOMMY BLOCK MOVES ON LOAN TO QUEEN’S PARK

Development Squad midfielder Tommy Block has agreed a season-long loan move to Queen’s Park.

The 19-year-old will benefit from regular first-team football in a competitive environment, while still being able to work on his game through the week at the Hibernian Training Centre under the watchful eye of our specialist staff.

Tommy will also be able to take part in the Development Squad’s specially arranged games programme against handpicked opposition, following our decision to withdraw from this season’s SPFL Reserve League.

The hard-working youngster is looking forward to the opportunity to test himself with The Spiders.

He said: “This is a great opportunity for me and I want to make the most of it.

“I’d like to thank Queen’s Park for showing real faith in me and to the staff at HTC, because they have a plan for every player and it’s not just a case of sending boys out on loan and hoping for the best.

“Queen’s Park have shown that they aren’t afraid to put young players in and you only have to look at Andy Robertson to see that. I’m also looking forward to running out at an iconic stadium like Hampden on a regular basis.

“The way I see it, I’ll have the best of both worlds.

“If I’m able to earn a place in the first team at Queen’s Park I’ll pick up great experience at first-team level and hopefully help the team achieve their targets and I’ll also be able to keep working hard at HTC to improve on a daily basis.”
