Hibernian today announce an extension to the club’s ticketing partnership with Ticketmaster, following a comprehensive review by the club’s executive team, which looked at a range of options and providers.
Supporters will experience a number of improvements to our ticket offering moving forward, including:
-Mobile ticketing for matchday and season tickets (in addition to the traditional season ticket card, which all STHs will receive in July)
-New scanners across every turnstile at Easter Road
-Improvements to the purchasing experience for high demand games, including an online queue management system integrated with the eTicketing site
-Enhanced seating map including ‘view from seat’ images
Chief Executive Leeann Dempster said: “We are delighted to be continuing the partnership with Ticketmaster.
“Our ticketing operation is one of the most important functions at the club – from a supporter’s perspective and our own we need it to operate as smoothly as possible.
“We are well aware of both the strengths and weaknesses of the current system, and including the frustrations supporters have had.
“A comprehensive review was conducted, evaluating the other main players in the market and what that meant for both our ticketing and access control systems. We also visited several other clubs to assess the systems they used.
“Ticketmaster’s new offering delivered all the requirements for us, and we are excited to see the improvements brought to life over the coming months.
“We wanted to future-proof our investment in the infrastructure – the club led the way several years ago with automated access control systems and print-at-home tickets, and we needed to make sure we keep up with technological advancements as much as possible.
“Mobile ticketing outside of football has been commonplace at airports and other environments for a period of time already, and football is now catching up across the UK. We know some supporters have been using their mobile devices to scan bar codes, but this is the first time we’ll be able to offer a purpose-designed method for supporters to access the stadium via their mobile phone.
“New scanners were trialled at matches towards the end of last season with positive results, and we are confident this will improve the entry process.
“The new online queuing system should also make the process for purchasing tickets for high demand matches better. We can’t control the number to tickets available to us, but the experience of waiting to purchase should be much better than before, saving supporters time and minimising frustration.
“The improvements will be rolled out gradually over the coming months but we are confident that we will have an enhanced ticketing experience for all our supporters.”
