Hibernian Ladies rounded off the league season in style with a 4-1 away win at Forfar Farmington.
The victory also ensures that Grant Scott’s side head into next Sunday’s SSE Scottish Women’s Cup Final against Glasgow City full of confidence.
It took just seven minutes for the visitors to open the scoring, with Amy Muir clinical in slotting beyond the onrushing keeper after latching on to an inch-perfect through-ball.
Muir turned provider on the 16-minute mark, with a cross from the right that provided Amy Gallacher with a straightforward tap-in.
Hibs upped the ante, with Lauren Davidson’s ball from the right finding Colette Cavanagh – whose chip landed on the roof of the net.
Davidson came closer herself, with a fine strike from distance that flew just over.
The irrepressible Jamie-Lee Napier twice came close to adding herself to the scoresheet before the interval but the hosts were resilient.
They reduced the deficit on 59 minutes with an eye-catching 40-yard lob from Hayley Kern which caught out Jenna Fife.
Spurred on by the setback, the Hibees restored the two-goal advantage within a minute with another poacher’s finish from Gallacher.
With eight minutes left on the clock sub Cailin Michie drew an excellent save from outside the box but Hibs weren’t finished.
Shannon Leishman rounded things off on 87 minutes with another sensational curling strike that bounced in off the post.
The focus is now firmly on the short trip to Tynecastle Park next Sunday.
Glasgow City lie in wait for the 4.10pm kick-off, with doors open to spectators from 3pm.
Tickets are priced at £7 for adults and £3 for concessions. Under-12s go free.
We’d love to see as many of you along as possible to cheer on a team who have left everything on the pitch this season, domestically and in their Champions League adventures!
