In 2019 it seems barely believable but some 21,000 children in Edinburgh live in food poverty.
Put simply, many families find it difficult to make ends meet and provide their children with hot, nutritious food
This year the Hibernian Community Foundation’s Christmas Appeal hopes to raise enough money to achieve their 2020 vision – to deliver 5000 hot meals to children through after-school activities across Edinburgh.
By providing a nutritious, hot meal – together with physical activity sessions and advice on healthy eating – we hope to help tackle food poverty at its source.
We know from previous appeals how generous our supporters can be.
In our recent Fans Survey the message came through loud and clear that you would like to see the Foundation deliver projects that will help alleviate food poverty.
In short, we need your help so please give what you can.
£10 is enough to provide hot, nutritious meals, a piece of fruit and a bottle of water for two children.
£100 would be enough to do the same for a whole class.
