Hibernian FC are delighted to feature in a new mobile game that shines a light on the proud history of the club.
Pitchlife is a free-to-play game that allows supporters to collect individual cards of players who have represented the club in every decade from 1875 to the present day.
Fans can take on the role of Jack Ross by piecing together their squad and playing matches against fellow Hibs supporters or supporters of Heart of Midlothian if you want to get your Edinburgh Derby fix.
When you win a match, users unlock additional cards from Hibs heroes past and present – which in turn allows you to build a better team, increase their level and compete against tougher opposition, while learning about the story of the club at the same time.
Each card details the player’s statistics and career summary – with more than 1000 to choose from who have pulled on the iconic green and white shirt.
Reaching milestones within the game unlocks a series of Magic Moment cards, which tells the stories of some of the landmark events from over the years.
Pitchlife will be updated in the coming months, with regular updates released to include changes to the current squad and player ratings.
All players are rated based on their defensive and attacking attributes – as well as stamina, which is based on their time at the club, with the details complied by the club’s own historians from the Hibernian Historical Trust. While it’s free to play, game-players can make some in-app purchases, and part of that revenue comes back to the Hibernian Historical Trust.
Pitchlife’s creators are keen to hear from supporters for their views on the game as it stands and what improvements, if any, you would like to see.
For the moment, enjoy the game and enjoy learning a bit more about the names who have helped shape what Hibernian FC is today.
