Hibernian FC today announced the signature of midfielder Alan Gow on loan from Championship club Plymouth Argyle to the end of the season.
Gow started his career at Clydebank in 2000, before joining Airdrie United in 2002, where he remained for 3 years making 76 appearances and scoring 26 goals for the Diamonds. He then shot to prominence after joining up with John Hughes at Falkirk in 2005, and became one of the Bairns' most influential players, making 82 appearances and scoring 18 goals. The 27 year-old joined Rangers on a free transfer in 2007 with Gow subsequently spending time on loan at both Blackpool and Norwich City. Rangers sold the midfielder to Plymouth last August, and he has made 10 appearances for the Pilgrims this season.
Alan Gow said: "I'm delighted to be joining Hibernian to the end of the season and looking forward to working with John Hughes again in the SPL. I know how the Gaffer likes to play the game, and how well the team are performing at the moment, so I can't wait to meet the boys and start training."
Manager John Hughes said: "Alan is a player I admire tremendously, and I know what he's all about from our time together at Falkirk. The supporters have been fantastic since I've been at the Club and it's always good to give them a lift at this time of year, so I'm delighted to get Alan to Hibernian for the rest of the campaign - he adds more real quality to the squad, and will hopefully raise the bar again in terms of what we are trying to achieve at this Club."
