The game of the week is without doubt taking place on Sunday at Ibrox, and if the last time these two sides met at the same venue is a marker then those fortunate enough to have tickets will be in for a treat.

Hibernian have thus far enjoyed a superb season. A place in the Quarter Finals of the Scottish Cup and firmly entrenched in third slot in the Clydesdale Bank Premier League - not at all a bad return with the sharp end of the campaign just around the corner, but then as the manager is very quick to point out nothing has been achieved by his side yet - other than a base from which something can be achieved.

That last encounter in Govan is still very fresh in the mind, Hibernian having gone along the M8 with a determination to entertain - and Rangers were pretty like-minded, with the resulting 1-1 draw barely describing the drama and quality of that particular encounter, as John Hughes recalled: "The last time we played at Ibrox I felt was the best game I've been involved in certainly this season. It was an end-to-end match with both teams going at each other - we carried a bit of luck with Graham Stack I remember having a few great saves, but to go through there to the Scottish champions and take something from the game was massive and certainly did our confidence a world of good.

"We can take a lot of inspiration from that but they did come to our place not long after that and gave us a going over. Even then in that 4-1 defeat there were positives from the first half-hour, but we know what we are up against this weekend but I like to think I have players who can express themselves on that stage."

Ahead of the last trip to Ibrox the Hibernian boss famously grouped his players together and asked them how they wished to play the game. Attack or defend, play for win or hold on for a draw - forever the conundrum facing sides when they travel to face either half of the old firm. Hughes was asked if a similar scenario might take place ahead of this trip? "I won't be using that again, we've come on a bit since then and the way I see it is you pick your tools accordingly - be that defending or attacking. That said a good 90% of me is that I always want to go and have a go, I think I have the players at my disposal who can express themselves in these games but of course you also have to make sure that you have your guard up as well.

"But as long as their are games to play and you are still in there then you have a chance, we are a good football side and Rangers are a good football side - so I'm looking forward to a very good game. At Ibrox everyone has to be strong, we have to be sure that there is a real determination and it does not phase you. We have to have that self-belief but I really don't think we have anything to lose in this game, all the pressure is going to be on Rangers and we need to go there and just give it our best shot. We can go with confidence to a great arena that should inspire my players and I'm certainly hoping that will be the case."

Unusually perhaps for this stage of the campaign Hibernian will go to Glasgow with no injury or suspension worries - that leaving the manager with a major job on his hands in selecting a starting eleven from a squad that has served him so well this season: "We've had one or two small niggles to deal with this week but everyone is fit and I have a full squad to select from for the game at Ibrox. Everyone is fit and ready to go for what will be a tough week - three away games in six days, but we are ready for that."
