The aftermath of Wednesday's match in Perth will be felt around Easter Road for some time, with Colin Nish earning a three-match ban for his second red card of the season while manager John Hughes also faces a likely six-match touchline ban.

Nish will receive an automatic ban from the game tomorrow at Fir Park and should it be confirmed that he has gone over the points threshold he will also miss the games against Kilmarnock and Heart of Midlothian next month. For the visit to Motherwell tomorrow it is very much a case of proving that Wednesday was a one-off glitch, and the manager is certainly prepared to accept no excuses from his players who face their third game in six days.

"There can be no excuses from my players,"   Hughes told Hibernian TV this week, adding: "I've a friend who travels from Edinburgh to Dingwall to work at 5am every morning, but he is a footballer as well and still turns up for training in the evening. It is to the credit of our players that they have shown this season that they can bounce back from these things, and we have a squad that we can change about and manipulate, it is just about picking the right team.

"I've seen Motherwell recently though and I know we are in for another really hard time at the weekend. Everyone has to be ready for this and have the bit between their teeth right from the start and that is true of every single game from now until the end of the season. They must get themselves inspired and make sure that they take what would be a very big three points for us. Motherwell have found a bit of form and have an unbeaten run of their own going right now, they are not so far behind us in the league. There is a lot made of their pitch but you have to adjust, every game brings its own challenges and this is no different."

There was some good news for the Club yesterday with the news that David Wotherspoon and Paul Hanlon have both been selected for the Scotland Under-21 international squad to face Azerbaijan in the UEFA Championship at the Falkirk Stadium on Tuesday 2nd March.
