Easter Road will never look the same again after Saturday's game against St Johnstone, the structure of the stadium ready for another major change with the East Terracing being used for one last time before it makes way for a stand that will add further to the prestige to the football club. On the pitch, Anthony Stokes and his team-mates will shut away the emotion of the day and aim to concentrate on just one major issue facing them - overcoming St Johnstone and exacting some retribution for the humbling defeat handed out by the Perth side when the sides met just a little over a week earlier.
Stokes will be looking to add to his personal 16-goal tally for the season, this time however he is also aiming to make it count towards winning three vital points: "We have to just forget about the last week because we can't change it now, we face St Johnstone on Saturday and obviously they are going to feel they have a good chance of beating us. We know we have to get ourselves back on track and get the result going our way again - and that has to start this weekend. Nobody likes to be beaten 5-1 by any side but at Perth last week it was just one of those nights, and to be fair they created all the chances and could have had more, while we just did not turn up at all. So it would be nice to get a little bit of payback on Saturday."
In any football season there will come a period when doubts are cast, where results don't go according to plan - the reasons for these can be many but there is always only one response, and Stokes knows all too well the task that faces the side in producing that response: "We had a lot of luck at the start of the season but recently it seems that everything has gone against us, that is the way it goes sometimes and our task is to get through this, go out there and Saturday and give our supporters what they deserve, some good football and a positive outcome.
"What has happened has certainly not shattered our confidence - but it has given us a bit of a wake-up call. People have been saying this season that we are a good football team but we know that we have to really battle in games at times, we have to be ready to do that and Saturday is one game where we certainly know we have to be ready to do that. We are under no illusions and I'm pretty sure they will know that they are not likely to walk all over us like that again.
"We have the type of players in our team where if an opponent wants to come and play football with us we are a match for anyone in this league. So if they come and play football we are actually happy about that because it suits our style of play - but you have to remember that we also have players out there who will work their socks off as well.
"There is a good work-ethic in our team as well as players who can play some football, but we know we need to get back to the basics at times. But there is a good spirit in our squad and come Saturday we hope to show that again."
