Work began this week on the demolition of the East Stand, within just five days of the contractor being on site, the view of the old East Terraces has changed considerably.
In what is a huge project involving various separate tasks and stages - work undertaken in week one has included the final clearance of the site pre demolition, all four floodlight columns being taken down, seats removed and three quarters of the East Stand roof being demolished. Work will continue into next week to flatten the site. During the demolition process as many materials as possible will be recycled.
In the first of our regular updates on the construction process - below are some key moments in time during the first week of activity to improve Easter Road Stadium. Due to the fast pace of activity, the old East Stand space will look completely difference come tomorrow's 2pm kick off versus Kilmarnock.
