It is human nature for heads to fall when things are not going your way, and while lacking confidence was not a major issue for Hibernian ahead of their game at the weekend the win over Kilmarnock has at least ensured that it will not become one. That was a point underlined by Abdessalam Benjelloun who in his own post-match comments might have revealed a mini-crisis of his own having missed a penalty kick in the game - but the exuberant Moroccan was as up-beat as ever.

That of course could be attributed to the fact that Hibernian recovered to win through in the end, with Benji admitting that nobody was more relieved than he was to look on as Derek Riordan found the net from 30 yards out: "It was really important for us to get that win on Saturday and keep the pressure on Dundee United and Motherwell. Everyone of course wants to play and I was pleased to be able to get on early in the game, but it was unfortunate for Alan Gow that he got the injury. It was a chance to play for me though and I did my best to help the team to win, but of course I'm very disappointed that I did not take the chance with the penalty kick - but you know that happens to the best players in the world, sometimes you miss them.

"It has not put me off though and I would not hesitate in taking a penalty again. I was though relieved to see Derek take his free kick and put it into the net! We deserved to win the game because we worked very hard throughout and created the best chances."   Next up for Hibernian is another cup clash with lower-league opposition - this time however the opposition simply cannot be underrated, Ross County a side that is currently battling hard for equal league status with Hibernian next season.

County trail SFL Division One leaders Dundee but with a couple of games in hand over their Tayside rivals the destination of the promotion slot is far from certain. The Dingwall side are making their first-ever competitive visit to Easter Road, and they will be looking to make it a memorable day with that place in the Semi-Finals of the Active Nation Scottish Cup a tempting bonus in their promotion-challenging season.

Hibernian however remain on course for a great season finale themselves, with Benji as ever confident that he and his team-mates can give supporters a campaign to remember: "The important thing was winning again and we have managed that, now we need to take that increase in confidence to our game against Ross County this week. We can still finish in third place in the league and we can still win the cup - and why not? We have had a great season so far - there was a bad spell for us, we lost badly at St Johnstone because on that evening we did not work hard but in the other games we were not so bad.

"So we have no worries at this club about confidence, our confidence remains high and it has been given another boost by the win on Saturday."
