Life-long Hibernian supporter David Stewart, (31), enjoyed the biggest match of his life at the new-look Easter Road Stadium when he tied the knot with his sweetheart Gemma (26).

The happy couple, based in Southampton, walked down the aisle and for Edinburgh-born David there was only one venue suitable for the happiest day of his life - the home of his favourite football team.

After viewing the facilities available with the wedding planner, David and Gemma had their heart set on staging their special day at Hibernian's home - a unique venue in the centre of Edinburgh.

A delighted Gemma said: "From the moment Dave popped the question back in March 2008, there was only one wedding venue choice - Easter Road Stadium! By agreeing to marry a Hibs fanatic, I always knew a wedding at Easter Road was David's dream and I'm glad we went with the choice, as it was the most amazing day of my life, the Stadium was a fantastic setting for our big day."

David, who regularly travels 452 miles from Southampton to support his beloved Hibernian, added: "Staging our wedding at Easter Road was the only choice for me since supporting the Club as a boy. It was the perfect setting and backdrop for the biggest day of my life; I can't wait to get back to watch football there. We have so many happy memories from the day - I would do it all over again tomorrow."

Lynsey Griffiths from Hibernian's Wedding Team highlighted the various packages available to potential wedding parties; all tailored to suit individual needs.

This year has been the busiest with 12 couples holding wedding ceremonies here, feedback has been really positive and now the amazing new East Stand has been completed, we look forward to welcoming more and more couples to the Stadium for their special day."
