Kurtis Byrne scored a memorable hat-trick for loan club East Fife at Bayview Stadium in the 6-0 demolition of Dumbarton in the Irn Bru Division Two clash.

The young Irish striker's treble included two goals in a nine-minute spell just before half-time with his final strike arriving on the 71-minute mark.

Byrne has made a big contribution since completing his temporary transfer north to Methil in July - scoring four goals for Stevie Crawford's side.

Meanwhile, left-back Calum Booth scored Brechin City's opening goal in the club's 3-1 win over Alloa at Glebe Park.

Scott Taggart got some valuable game-time under his belt for Ayr United, although he was yellow-carded during their 1-1 draw against Peterhead at Somerset Park.
