The Club today announced that disciplinary action had been taken against six individuals who were involved in a disturbance ahead of the Club's Europa League tie in Maribor, Slovenia.
The six involved, who were arrested by Slovenian Police working with Lothian and Borders Police, are now banned from entering Easter Road Stadium or from purchasing tickets for away matches involving Hibernian Football Club.
Under protocol agreements in place with Lothian and Borders Police and British Transport Police the Club is regularly updated on incidents which are direct related to football matches. As information is received under this protocol agreement the Club will continue to act against individuals.
Chief Executive, Scott Lindsay, added: "Whilst the vast majority of the supporters who travelled to Maribor behaved impeccably, unfortunately there were a small minority who tarnished the good name of Hibernian Football Club. The Club has no alternative but to take appropriate action against these individuals.
Along with all other SPL Clubs, Hibernian Football Club is determined to tackle instances of unacceptable conduct in and around football grounds to ensure that we provide a safe and comfortable environment for fans of all ages.
At the same time the Club wishes to praise the overwhelming majority of supporters who continue to follow and represent the Club in an exemplary manner. Thousands of supporters travelled this summer to Dunfermline, Dumfries, Holland, Slovenia, Carlisle and Blackpool to lend their support to the team and to further enhance the positive image of the Club."
