Ricardo Vaz Te says he is really pleased to have signed for Hibernian and the Portuguese striker reveals the aspect that has impressed him most of all at the club was the togetherness in the squad.
Formerly with Farense, Bolton Wanderers and Panionios, the ex-Portugal under-21 internationalist, caught the eye of manager Colin Calderwood during a recent trial period at the club's Training Centre.
The 24-year-old earned himself a contract until the end of the season and says that he now wants to repay Hibernian's faith in him by shining at first team level.
Vaz Te said: "I really like it here - the city is great and there is a great ambience in the dressing room. Everybody at the club has been very warm and they have welcomed me. I'm hoping to give something back now.
"The manager hasn't really said much to me about my role within the squad, but he told me he appreciates me as a player and every player likes to hear that.
"He believes in my capabilities, so I'm hoping not to disappoint him. He believes I can help the team and hopefully the team can also help me.
"The team is like a family - they have got a special union and I'm pleased to be here."
Boss Calderwood believes the latest addition to his team will add something different to Hibernian's attacking armoury.
Calderwood said: "It is great to be able to add Ricardo to the squad; he has terrific technical ability and pace.
"He has shown strength of character to overcome some injury problems during his time at Bolton and we believe he has got the ability to make an impact in the Scottish Premier League.
"Ricardo is a different type of striker to what we already have at our disposal in the squad and gives us extra options."
