Pat Fenlon speaks to Hibernian TV about the next obstacle facing the squad - a trip to Rangers on Saturday (28 January, kick off 3pm) - and he also sheds some light on the latest goings on during the transfer window.

The manager says that the club's player recruitment drive is far from finished at this point in January, explains what happened with the proposed arrival of Jim Goodwin and confirms that Gambia internationalist Pa Saikou Kujabi is currently on trial at the club.

Fenlon said: "We're talking to one or two players at the moment, but we just need to get the deals over the line if we can.

"We spoke to St Mirren about Jim (Goodwin) and he's made a decision to stay there - we've got to respect that and good luck to him.

"But we've got other targets and we're trying to get players in. It is a difficult time, but we're hoping to bring in a couple more before the window closes.

"We have a boy, who played this week in a bounce game; his name in Pa Saikou Kujabi. He's done quite well and he is staying to train with us.

"We'll have another look at him when we play Carlisle in a bounce game on Monday.

"He's a free agent, so he's not tied to time. All the other targets we're chasing are all tied to the transfer deadline day."

On the injury front, Fenlon reveals that both captain Ian Murray and midfielder Danny Galbraith will be missing for the trip west to face the current champions.

He added: "Ian Murray is still injured, but he's back running and could maybe join in training next week which is earlier than we thought and good news.

"Danny Galbraith is also struggling with a groin problem which will keep him out maybe for 10 days.

"So obviously he's not available and both Garry (O'Connor) and Leigh (Griffiths) are suspended and we're a little bit short in the forward area."

With both Garry O'Connor and Leigh Griffiths ruled out through suspension, Fenlon admits that new signing Eoin Doyle will shoulder the responsibility to spearhead Hibernian's attack and says he expects the 23-yearold to enjoy the forthcoming challenge.

He said: "I think he's done quite well and I'm pleased with him. It will be a tough shift for Eoin, but he's a good player and he'll enjoy it as well."
