As was reported on the official website last night, Union Berlin confirmed they were unable to fulfil the planned friendly at Easter Road on Wednesday 25 July. Instead it was proposed by Union Berlin that this match could take place in Berlin on Tuesday 24 or Wednesday 25 July.

Hibernian have continued dialogue with Representatives for Union Berlin today and discussions have progressed well. Both parties are keen to try and find a solution to allow this match to take place. The club expect to be in a position to make a formal announcement by close of business on Friday on whether the Hibernian plans to extend its trip to Belgium and Zeeland with a match in Berlin.
