Hibernian can announce that Sean Murdoch has joined the club until January and will be named as substitute goalkeeper for this afternoon's home match against Dundee (kick off 3pm).

A former Scotland under-19 internationalist, Murdoch previously played for Dunfermline, Forfar, Hamilton Academical and Accrington Stanley.

Manager Pat Fenlon welcomed the news and says he has been impressed with Murdoch, 26, who earned his contract after impressing during a trial period at the club.

Fenlon said: "We're pleased to be able to add Sean to the first team squad with immediate effect. He has been training with the group for the past few weeks and he has impressed us with both his ability and his attitude.

"He will come in and automatically provide us with experienced cover for Ben Williams."

Murdoch's arrival coincides with 20-year-old Calum Antell's loan move to East Fife and Fenlon believes the switch to Methil will be beneficial for the Welshman.

He added: "We felt that it would be beneficial for Calum to get a regular run of first team games with East Fife. His loan move will give him more experience and help his development."
