Both Ryan McGivern and Jorge Claros toasted memorable World Cup results last night with the duo flying the Hibernian flag on the international stage.
Loan signing McGivern, 22, was assigned the tough task of shackling Nani, Cristiano Ronaldo and co in Porto when Northern Ireland took on Portugal.
Even though Northern Ireland were 114 places below Portugal in the FIFA rankings, the team were only 11 minutes away from recording a famous win before securing a 1-1 draw.
McGivern played at left-back throughout - ideal preparation for Hibernian's next match, away to Ross County on Saturday (20 October, kick off 3pm).
Meanwhile, Jorge Claros helped Honduras to record a phenomenal 8-1 win over Canada in San Pedro Sula.
It was a make-or-break Group C World Cup qualifier for Los Catrachos and they absolutely smashed Canada in order to qualify for the next phase.
Taking into account the fact the previous meeting between the two countries in Toronto in June ended goalless, it underlines what a magnificent result it was for Honduras.
In the end, Honduras, who entered the final round of matches in third place, finished on top of Group C and on course to qualify for their second successive World Cup.
Forget our 169-mile journey north to Dingwall at the weekend, Claros now faces a 5153-mile trip back to Edinburgh and hopefully he will be available for selection for Saturday's match in the Highlands.
Congratulations to both Ryan and Jorge on the results and we look forward to watching them maintain those lofty standards in the bottle green of Hibernian.
