Hibernian are happy to announce the signing of Finnish goalkeeper Otso Virtanen on a three and a half year deal.

Otso, 21, joins from Finnish Premier Division side IFK Mariehamn, and has represented the national under 21 squad on several occasions.

The 6ft 5in goalkeeper becomes Hibernian’s fifth signing of the January transfer window, following the additions of Chris Dagnall, Niklas Gunnarsson, Anthony Stokes and Kevin Thomson.

Head Coach Alan Stubbs said: “Otso is someone we’ve been tracking for a while and I’m delighted that we have concluded the deal.

“He is a keeper with lots of potential that we’re looking forward to developing.

“I’m sure he’ll be another positive addition to the first team squad.”
