Grant Scott insists it’s business as usual for his Hibernian side as they prepare for the SSE Scottish Cup Semi-Final against Glasgow City on Sunday.
The sides have faced off in the last three Scottish Cup finals but now meet a round earlier this season.
Both sides have shown remarkable consistency in the domestic game, with the teams unbeaten in the league and only separated by goal difference, and that need for consistency week-in week-out is what will prepare the side for this weekend’s encounter.
Scott said: “I think at the moment the league positions will tell you they’re the two best teams in the country. The small goal difference shouldn’t really have any bearing on Sunday, it’s just an indicator that it’s going to be a great match and that’s what we’re looking forward to.
“It’s easier to attack in most other games, this one is slightly different because of the strength of the opponent, so we’ll be very mindful of that. But other than just being aware of the threat that City pose we approach the game in the same way.
The Hibees are aiming to win the trophy for a third consecutive time, but Scott reckons that holds little relevance on Sunday’s match.
“The experience helps only a tiny part – there’s so many different things that can happen in the match.
“The recent record is nice to have but it doesn’t count for anything really.
“It’s another reward for the players and the squad to do that for the third time in a row. It’s a great snapshot of the consistency of the squad over a period of time.”
Tickets cost £5 for adults and £2 for concessions, with free entry for kids U16. The Hibernian match kicks off at 12pm, with the other semi-final between Motherwell and Spartans at 4pm.
