Hibernian are set to play their last match in Scottish capital before the summer break as they welcome Motherwell to Peffermill on Wednesday evening, writes David Ronney.
The squad return to league action following their SWPL Cup success on Friday night, overcoming Glasgow City 4-2 on penalties after a tense goalless affair over the 120 minutes.
However, focus quickly returns back to the league as the squad aim to bounce back from a disappointing defeat against Celtic in their last league outing.
Competition: SBS SWPL 1
Location: Peffermill Playing Fields, Edinburgh
KO time: 7.30pm, 15 May 2019
The Story of the Teams
They welcome newly promoted Motherwell to Edinburgh who are currently sit fifth in SWPL 1.
Hibernian beat Wednesday’s visitors 4-0 in their last meeting with Rachael Small bagging a brace, while Lauren Davidson and Kirsten Reilly also contributed to the scoreline.
The sides also met in last year’s Scottish Cup final at Firhill Stadium where Hibernian recorded an impressive 8-0 win.
However, the visitors come into Wednesday’s match having won their last two fixtures against Stirling University and Forfar Farmington.
With just two games left before a three-month absence of SWPL action, we encourage you to come down to Peffermill to support the team before the summer break, where some of the squad will hopefully be heading off to the World Cup in France or the Under-19s European Championships in Scotland.
