Over the past decade, Hibernian have established a proud record of promoting and developing young players with many going on to enjoy successful careers in the Scottish Premier League, English Premier League and on the international stage with Scotland.

In the current first team squad, seven players are products of the Hibernian Academy and our youth system has received widespread praise across British football with Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson highlighting the amount of quality young players promoted into the first team.

Objectives of the Academy

To develop young players to a standard good enough to become first team players at Hibernian FC.

To deliver within Hibernian FC Youth Academy a 'football experience' for young players in a professional, but pressure free learning environment.

To strive to develop all players to their maximum potential.

To ensure that Academy staff, coaches, players and parents work together to recognise and respond to each player's individual needs.

Mission statement:

The 'Philosophy' of Hibernian FC Youth Academy is to disseminate both technical and theoretical information to each player stimulating the player's learning.

To this end, the precept must be to promote a player-centred approach allowing the 'game to be the teacher' when appropriate and encompass the principles of The Developing Talent Plan as laid out by the SFA Football Development Department.

Therefore, Hibernian FC Youth Academy consider the needs of each player and take account of their developmental stage from a growth, development and maturation perspective and implement a programme to develop young players who have and can maximise their potential in the short, but ultimately in, the longer term.
