Since its inception in 1875, Hibernian Football Club, has played a significant role in local communities and in the lives of people who have supported it.

Hibernian FC was founded through the collective effort of local people and families, many of limited means, but all of whom shared a passion, vision and commitment. Today that ethos remains strong.

In late 2007 the Club held a series of supporters' forums and listening groups to seek inputs into the development of a new Community Foundation to consolidate and expand the range of community initiatives it undertakes, and to increase its contribution to the community. More than 400 people took part in these events and more than 300 ideas and suggestions were gathered. From that extensive consultation process Hibernian Community Foundation was established with the purpose of working in partnership with other organisations to the benefit of local communities in Edinburgh , Lothians, Borders and Fife.

Our Aim

We aim to harness the power and passion of football to promote learning, improve health and enhance opportunities within our local communities.

Our Philosophy

Every individual has the potential to improve and develop. The most challenged communities have many assets which can be nurtured and grown. We focus on strengths not weaknesses and look to create positive, inspirational activities that can raise self esteem, release people's potential and build strong communities.
