ScotRail travel advice for football fans travelling to Cup Final:

Edinburgh - Glasgow trains in both directions will not call at Falkirk High or Croy on Sunday 26 May due to engineering work. This work was scheduled by Network Rail before the Scottish Cup Final at Hampden was moved to the Sunday. Falkirk passengers are requested to use Grahamston station rather than Falkirk High. Journey times will be extended by up to 15 minutes, so please allow extra time to travel.

Customers wishing to travel between Glasgow and Bishopbriggs, Lenzie or Croy will be provided with a bus service. This will also connect these towns into train services at Falkirk Grahamston and Larbert.

To help meet demand from football fans, there will be additional trains and extra carriages between Glasgow Central and Mount Florida before and after the Cup Final, as well as additional carriages on Neilston/Newton services.

A half-hourly service - with extra carriages - will run all day between Edinburgh and Glasgow via Bathgate on Sunday 26 May. Additional carriages will also be used on the diverted Edinburgh - Falkirk Grahamston - Glasgow Queen Street route.

Fans are asked to buy their tickets and advance and to be aware that queuing systems will be in operation at key stations. An alcohol ban will be in place on trains between Edinburgh and Glasgow stations, and between Glasgow Central and Mount Florida / Kings Park.

For fans travelling on the Shotts/Carstairs lines:

Buses will replace trains between Glasgow Central and Edinburgh via Shotts between Saturday 25 May and Wednesday 29 May, due to Network Rail engineering works at Midcalder.

Early morning buses have been arranged to help passengers reach Glasgow and Edinburgh before 09:00 on Saturday 25 May and from Monday 27 to Wednesday 29 May. These buses are in addition to the buses already in place to serve the route all day. For more information, visit www.scotrail.co.uk

Note: Trains WILL operate between Glasgow Central and Carstairs, but with buses running between Carstairs and Edinburgh on the same dates as above.
