Allan Delferrière Reflects On Sunderland Win

Hibs midfielder Allan Delferrière was on target for the Hibs Dev Squad who overcame Sunderland under-21s on Monday afternoon in a mid-season friendly.

Delferrière, Jair Tavares, and Lewis Stevenson got the goals as the Hibees recorded an impressive win at the SAFC Academy of Light.

Speaking to hibernianfc.co.uk, Delferrière explained how useful the exercise was.

“It was a good opportunity to get minutes into the legs of a lot of the players. It also helped us get our confidence back after the weekend, and to get more time out on the pitch for those who haven’t been playing as much.

“These friendly games can be good for the lads to regain our confidence – it is good to go out and play, score goals if you are an attacker, keep clean sheets as a defender or make saves as a goalkeeper.

“All these things help us improve and can help us with our preparation in the week leading up to the Celtic game.

Delferrière grabbed the opening goal of the game – providing an excellent finish after Josh Landers cut the ball back for him.

“I am really happy with the result, to be honest. The team played really well overall, and I was delighted to get on the scoresheet too.

“When you score it is always good for you, and for the people around you. I love getting goals and assists so I was very happy with my performance.”
