“There’s no place I’d rather be” said Chris Cadden after penning a new contract with Hibernian FC.
The right-back, who shone last season, committed his long-term future to the Club putting pen-to-paper on a deal that lasts until the summer of 2025.
When speaking to Hibs TV, ‘Cadds’ explained how proud he was to be offered a new deal.
“I’m delighted. It’s a place that feels like home for me now. There’s no place I’d rather be playing my football.
“I feel like I’m improving every week and I’m always trying to get better. I’m enjoying my football, playing at Easter Road, playing big games, playing at such a big club like Hibs.
“I’ve loved every minute of it, so I just wanted that to continue.”
Cadden has flourished in Lee Johnson’s new system, flying down the right-hand side and looking to get balls in the box for our attacking players.
He explained what impact the new Manager has had on him.
“He told me my role at the Club and how he wants me to be a leader. He’s put that responsibility on me, which is brilliant.
“I’m 25 now, and this is a young squad, so that comes into it. I just try and lead by example. I haven’t had a role like this in my career, but I will relish it.
“The style of play suits me and the way he wants to play. With Lee, you are learning something new every day and being taught something. He’s drip-feeding you information all the time. The coaching staff he’s brought in too, you’re learning off them all the time too.”
A big part of Cadden’s decision to sign was the long-term vision of the Football Club, something he’s incredibly invested in.
“I’ve been here just over a year and a half, and the training ground has got a lot better, Easter Road is getting better, and you can see the Club is going places and there’s a real vision here.
“I think that comes from the top with Ben Kensell and the Owner; they’re doing a lot of good things off the park.
“There’s a real vision here and that’s something I wanted to be a part of, and why I committed my future here.”
