Gray Demands Response From Tuesday

David Gray has demanded a response from his players off the back of a disappointing defeat last Tuesday.

His Hibees were beaten 3-1 by Dundee in the cinch Premiership earlier in the week but will look to bounce back and end the season on a high when they face St Johnstone on Sunday.

When speaking to Hibs TV ahead of the game, Gray’s message was very clear… he’s urged the players to restore some pride.

“It’s pretty simple for me to be honest, we need a reaction from the result on Tuesday night.

“We’ve got one opportunity before the end of the season to try and put right. You’re never going to put it completely right, but we want to try and restore a bit of pride in our performance and also give the supporters something to shout about and support.

“We need to perform better than what we did.”

We face a St Johnstone team that will be competing in the cinch Premiership Play-Off next week. Gray gave his thoughts on what to expect from them.

“It’s a difficult one because they'll be looking towards the play-offs now. It’s important for teams who go into that situation to have momentum, so I expect them to be at it.

“There’s no such thing as a ‘nothing’ game. This is all about us, not the team that St Johnstone put out. It’s all about what we do and showing a reaction from Tuesday night.”

In terms of team news, our Caretaker Manager won’t have anyone back available and will be assessing the fitness of a couple of his First Team players.

“There's no-one coming back, which is unfortunate, we’re very light at the minute.

“Ryan (Porteous) came off ill on Tuesday night, but we’re hoping he will be ok.

“There’s another couple that are struggling at the minute, so we will see how they come through training. It looks like, though, we will be in the same position as Tuesday in terms of the squad available.”
