The partnership between Hibernian FC and the Hanlon Stevenson Foundation (HSF) has flourished during the 2023/24 campaign and benefitted hundreds of people in the local community!
Following on from the fantastic work the charity already does, the Club and HSF linked up to help provide opportunities and experiences for local community causes and individuals that wouldn’t otherwise be able to afford it.
These experiences give children the opportunity to have a day to remember at Easter Road through mascot packages, Hibs Kids memberships and Kick for Kids memberships.
So far this season they have generously donated 100 Kicks for Kids Membership and 100 Hibs Kids memberships meaning a significant amount of young people have been able to attend the football.
These membership packages have been distributed to various organisations across the city including; Street Soccer, Edinburgh Education Welfare, Norton Park, LIFT (Low Income Families Together), The Andrew MacKinnon, The Venchie, Hibernian Girls and Boys Academy, The Ripple Project, Jack Kane Centre Comm Wing, Pilmeny Youth Centre, Kinship Youth Group, Kids In The Street, Citadel Youth Centre, Link Living, Kids In Care/Moredun YPC, Dads Work, and Lothian Villa Children’s Home.
Not only have they been providing youngsters with new opportunities, but they have also been enhancing the matchday experience for our younger supporters through the introduction of ‘Persy’ the mascot!
In addition to Persy putting smiles on faces, his introduction has also allowed two youngsters to be the Hanlon Stevenson Foundation mascots for each home league game, providing more young people with memories that’ll last a lifetime!
Since the charity’s inception in May 2019, it has continued to raise money to support projects to help less privileged children in Edinburgh and the surrounding area.
The Hanlon Stevenson Foundation are also giving 10 lucky Hibees the chance to win a free Hibs Kids & Hibs Kids Plus 1 Membership for the remainder of the 23/24 season. Click HERE to enter.
Chairman and Trustee at the Hanlon Stevenson Foundation, Graeme Cadger commented:
This is the fifth consecutive season we have donated season tickets and a variety of packages to Hibernian FC. Everyone at HSF are proud to help create opportunities for the next generation of Hibs supporters.
Hibernian Women’s Captain, and Junior Development Manager at the Club, Joelle Murray added:
“The partnership with HSF has been fantastic and it’s boosted our efforts in expanding the outreach for our junior memberships. Their investment has enabled us to engage with various local causes and provide experiences to deserving young people that might not otherwise have been able to benefit without HSF’s support.”
