Hibs Under-18s fell to a 4-0 defeat away to their Rangers counterparts on Tuesday night.
The wee Hibees had started their post-split fixtures in emphatic fashion, thrashing Celtic 4-0 at Lennoxtown, but they were on the receiving end of the same scoreline at the Rangers Training Centre.
Gareth Evans and Eddie May kept faith with the team that had produced the goods against the Hoops for their second trip to the west in four days, with Jack Brydon continuing in a three-man defence following his return from a loan spell with Stenhousemuir with Mack Weir and Jacob Blaney joining him at the back, and a five-man midfield featuring Josh Currie and Oscar MacIntyre as wingbacks and a central trio of Murray Aiken, Jayden Fairley, and Robbie Hamilton.
Josh O’Connor and Connor Young again formed the strikeforce with Ethan Laidlaw an option from the bench.
The wee Gers had edged the last encounter at the Hibernian Training Centre 3-2, scoring three first-half goals, and they repeated that feat on home turf with Ross McCausland, Robbie Ure, and Charlie Lindsay giving the hosts a commanding lead at half-time.
Ure added his second and Rangers’ fourth in the second half as David McCallum and Cameron Campbell's side ran out 4-0 winners.
Hibs’ next two matches are against St Mirren on Friday May 21, and Kilmarnock on Tuesday May 25, both at the Hibernian Training Centre.
