Johnson Provides Update On Hanlon & Mitchell

Lee Johnson provided a team news update ahead of Sunday's Edinburgh Derby against Hearts, including updates on Paul Hanlon and Demetri Mitchell.

There were several First Team players involved in a match as part of the Development Squad earlier this week, including Paul Hanlon, Demetri Mitchell and Momodou Bojang.

Hanlon played 60 minutes in midweek, and Johnson admits that he could be involved against Hearts.

“Paul Hanlon is available. He is probably a little bit shy of a starting spot but certainly his experience around the place will be beneficial.

"There are a couple of little knocks. Demetri Mitchell is not quite there; he pulled up with a light hamstring injury, more of a cramp than it was a tear so he will be out.

“Obviously, we have a couple of long-term injuries that we are dealing with at the moment."

Those injuries include; Aiden McGeady, Kyle Magennis and Kevin Nisbet who are all unavailable.

Despite that, Lee Johnson is placing a great emphasis on having all the bases covered ahead of the derby and is confident the lads will deliver on the day.

“I think what we have got to do is focus on what we have got available. We have to make sure that I’m tactically ready for everything that comes our way and that the boys are physically ready.

"They also have to be full of confidence because games like this can sap your confidence very quickly and it's important that they know that we all fully believe in them.”

Sunday’s highly-anticipated fixture has SOLD OUT, however, the ticket exchange is now available, allowing Season Ticket Holders who can’t attend the game a chance to earn money off their 2023/24 Season Ticket renewal by releasing their seat.
