Lee Johnson can’t wait for the season to start after Hibernian’s fixtures for the 2022/23 season were released.
They games schedule came out on Friday 17 June, which determined that the Hibees would kick off their campaign away at St Johnstone.
Our Manager Lee Johnson gave his thoughts on the games schedule when speaking to Sky Sports.
“I’m looking forward to it,” he said. “When the fixtures come out there’s always that buzz and all of a sudden it becomes real. Straight away you look for the big games you want to come, and also the first game which is massive.”
“You want to get off to a good start. It’s a new regime, a new playing style, and we will be looking to hit the ground running. We have this period in pre-season to nail it.”
The eye-catching fixture from the reveal was our first home game of the campaign… an Edinburgh Derby at Easter Road.
“You couldn’t get a better home game could you; it’s a really big derby. This game was one of the main reasons why I wanted to come up here, to experience it.
“It’ll be a big game and I’m really looking forward to it. It’s not about me, it’s about the fans and getting off to a good start and getting one over on your rivals.
“What a great way to show what we’re all about by performing well in that second game.”
