Lucy Parry Joins On Loan From Liverpool

Hibernian FC are delighted to announce the loan signing of Lucy Parry from Liverpool.

The 18-year-old makes the move north of the border after having experience of the Women’s Super League last season, with Liverpool having been promoted from the Women’s Championship as champions in 2021.

Coming through the ranks in Liverpool’s academy, Parry holds the record for the youngest ever player to appear for Liverpool Women. The defender came off the bench in a 2-1 victory over Coventry United at just 16 years and 150 days old.

Parry has also represented England at youth level, making several appearances for the under-19s, scoring twice in an 8-1 thrashing of Northern Ireland.

Parry spoke about her move to Hibs, saying: “I’m really excited to be joining the club and I can’t wait to get started.

“I’ve seen the team’s goals for this season, so I can’t wait to meet all the girls, get playing and get started.

“I can’t wait to meet the fans! I just want to show them that I can give my all to help the team and playing in front of them will mean everything. So, yeah, I can’t wait to play at this amazing stadium.”

Head Coach Dean Gibson also spoke about the acquisition of his 10th summer signing, saying: “Lucy is an exciting signing for the club. She’s a young player with a huge future in the game. Although it’s only a loan we feel very fortunate to have her for the next 12 months. She’s a current regular in the England under-19s squad, which has a huge pool to select from, so it shows the level she is currently at.

“The club and fans should enjoy her while she’s around because I’ve no doubt she will be a regular in the Liverpool side in the coming years.

“A huge thanks to Matt Beard and Russ Fraser, for their support in making the move an easy and smooth process!”
