Macey: It’s About Sticking Together

The message around HTC has been about sticking together says Matt Macey as we look to get back to winning ways.

Wednesday’s defeat to Ross County was our fifth consecutive loss in the cinch Premiership and saw us drop down to seventh in the league table.

When speaking ahead of this match, Macey detailed what the players’ attitude has been like since Ross County.

“We stay positive, we stick together, and we work our way through it. There’s been a lot of good stuff in the last few weeks, especially in the last week, so we know we’re still a good team; it’s just about bringing everything together.

“We’re disappointed with the result on Wednesday, but one of the key things we speak about is sticking together. We’ve not had the rub of the green recently, but we know what we’re capable of, we will continue to do the right things and that’ll change.

“We have to concentrate on what we can control. We can control our commitment, effort, and performances.”

We beat St Johnstone at Easter Road earlier this season and they’re a side we’ve faced a lot over the last 12 months, so Macey knows all about them.

“We’ve played them a lot and it’s a similar game every time we play them; it’s physical, it’s tough and it’s a battle. It’s the perfect game for us and we can use it as an opportunity to bounce back.

“With so many games, off the back of a disappointing result, you can go again straight away.”
