McCulloch Relished Opportunity To Play With First Teamers

Young defender Josh McCulloch relished the opportunity to play with a number of the First Team players as the Development Squad lost 4-2 to Queen Park.

Steve Kean’s side was made up of a mix of senior pros and young talented players, as the older heads looked to get valuable match minutes into their legs.

After the game, McCulloch explained how valuable it was for him to be around those kinds of players.

“The First Team boys keep us right and their experience brings out the best in us. We listen to them on the pitch, when they’re training with us and learn a lot.”

Queens Park proved to be a tough opposition for the Hibees, but Josh believes that this was a great opportunity for the younger players to learn and develop.

“It was a frustrating 90 minutes to be honest. I thought we played well in the first half, but we definitely let ourselves down in the second half.

“There are a lot of positives to take away, though. They used the ball well and ended up being a good match for us. Even though we lost we can learn from it and go again.”
