Hibernian FC’s youngsters continued their off-field development this week by taking part in media training.
An important part of their education programme, several Development Squad players, alongside some First Team players, gained useful tips and pieces of advice as they forge their careers in the professional game.
The sessions were led by former Sky Sports News presenter Julian Waters, a man with over 30 years experience in the broadcast/media industry, as he ran the players through various scenarios that they may face in the media.

On conducting the sessions, Julian Waters commented: “It was a pleasure to work with Hibernian FC this week and helping the Club’s young players.
“It was great to see so many of the youngsters engaged in the session and understanding the importance of their media work.”
Hibernian FC's Head of Communications, Adam Tomlinson, added: “In today’s day and age, there’s an increased media focus on all of our players, so providing this training to our young players at an early age is invaluable.
“It’s been magnificent to have someone of Julian’s experience working with the Football Club, and sharing his expertise with our young players.
“As a Club, we’re focused on developing the all-round player, and these type of education sessions are vital in that.”

A full education programme has been put in place for our young players to ensure they can grow away from the training pitch. Alongside media work, they go through a number of topics including mental health, nutrition, finances and much more.
