Miller: We Showed Our Determination

Hibs defender Lewis Miller was delighted after the Hibees ground out an important 1-0 win over Kilmarnock on Saturday afternoon.

The Hibees ended a frustrating week on a high after Josh Campbell scored the only goal of the game at Easter Road to seal the points for the home side.

Speaking to Hibs TV after the match, Miller admitted how happy he was with the result.

“We are ecstatic with that result. We have had a lot of good performances over the last few weeks, but we have been unfortunate not to get that final result. Today we stuck it through and thankfully we got the win.

“The last few minutes we were on edge a bit but we showed our determination, and stuck it out to get those three points and get that over the line. We are all buzzing with the result.”

As well as picking up a much-needed win, Miller was particularly pleased with the clean sheet, which the defender insists will give the squad confidence heading into the international break.

“We knew Kilmarnock would be very direct, they have got a lot of big boys and they would be dangerous from set-pieces. They had a lot of quality in their side too and we were good enough to hold them out. I thought we defended very, very well and we took our chance when it came.

“We have conceded a few goals in the last few games, so it was important to keep a clean sheet. We need to keep that momentum going now after the international break."

Miller will now join up with the Socceroos for their upcoming FIFA World Cup 2026 Second Round Asian Qualifiers.

“It is surreal to play for your country, I am just glad to be in the mix again. I obviously want to keep my place in the squad, so I need to keep performing here at Hibs, but I am looking forward to joining Boyley back out there again."
