Ellis Notley is feeling positive heading into her 10th year at the club and looking forward to playing at Meadowbank this season.
Ellis joined the club aged 13 making her way through the Girls Academy and has racked up an impressive 130 appearances at first team level.
Speaking to Hibs TV, about pre-season so far, she said:
“It’s been good, it has been nice to come into a full-time environment. When we arrive, we’ve got all the food available to ensure we’re eating properly and being the best version of ourselves. Every player strives to be in a more professional environment. That’s what we’re currently doing, the changes that the club have made has been great for us.”
“Pre-season is always tough. It has been nice to get the fitness levels back up and getting a touch of the football again. Also, meeting the new players that have come into the squad. It’s been good to get to know them both on and off the pitch.”
“As a schoolteacher, there wasn’t much of a summer break for Notley: “I had a little bit time off and a small holiday, but I was straight back into the swing of things with pre-season and joining up with the team.”
Speaking on our new arrivals, Ellis said: “It’s been great, they have fitted in well. New players, different characters, it’s always going to be tough for them to get to know all of us, but I feel that we’re a welcoming squad and a good group to get to know.”
Looking ahead to the 2022/23 season, Notley commented: “It’s great to be back in Edinburgh and playing our games at Meadowbank. Hopefully it will help us attract more fans, families and more people looking to get to know the women’s game.”
“Meadowbank is a great facility, central in Edinburgh and easy for fans to access. I’m excited to play there and get the first game underway against Hamilton. We are hopeful that we can get a big crowd.”
“Buy a ticket, come along and support us. We greatly appreciate your support, and we want to have the place packed out.”
