Everyone at Hibernian FC is delighted that the Club has raised a significant figure for Oxfam!
Following sales from our extremely popular 2021/22 third kit – which was produced in conjunction with the fantastic musicians and massive Hibees The Proclaimers – over £17,500 has been donated to the charity.
After producing the shirt, that donned the lyrics of Sunshine On Leith, the Club agreed with Charlie and Craig Reid that Oxfam would receive a percentage of the profits as a donation.
Jamie Livingstone, Head of Oxfam Scotland, said: “We’re hugely grateful to Hibs, The Proclaimers and, most importantly, to the club’s fans for buying this genuinely unique strip, making this incredible donation to Oxfam possible.
“At a time of surging humanitarian need, including hunger crisis across East Africa and beyond, this donation will help Oxfam to continue to support those most in need while also challenging the structural causes that fuel poverty and suffering.
“We hope the strip will become a real collector’s item and that, as the new football season approaches, it helps ensure the sun shines on Leith.”
Hibernian FC’s Commercial Director Greg McEwan added: “We are proud to have raised such a significant amount of money for Oxfam.
“The work they carry out across the globe is absolutely magnificent and we are delighted to be able to help them with the projects they’re working on.
“We’d like to thank all supporters too that have purchased the shirt, and helped us donate such a magnificent figure.”
