Ross: We Were The Worst Version Of Ourselves

Jack Ross gave an honest and frank review of our disappointing defeat to Dundee United at Easter Road.

An underwhelming performance, combined with the poor result, left supporters, players and our manager incredible frustrating as the Terrors ran out 3-0 winners.

When speaking after the game, our manager showed his discontent with the showing.

“We deserved the result. We were nowhere near the level of performance that is acceptable for us from the standards we set and secondly one you need to win matches.

“We will receive criticism and deservedly so. I said ‘we’ because first and foremost it’s my responsibility, but the level of criticism we get is absolutely deserving of that manner of performance.”

He went on to explain why he thought the performance was so poor and how it dipped well under his expectation levels.

“We were the worst version of ourselves; we were lazy, we were slow – in and out of possession -, we weren’t competitive enough, we were selfish in our play as we were looking after ourselves rather than the group.

“When you present the worst version of yourself, then you will struggle to win games.

“We’ve been striving to be the best version of ourselves for a long time now, but we fell well short of those levels today.”
