Josh O'Connor's hat-trick helped our development squad kick off their 2021-22 pre-season with an entertaining victory at Civil Service Strollers in front of 250 Hibs fans.
Josh O'Connor and Murray Aiken were the stand-out performers as Hibs development squad won 5-3 at Civil Service Strollers.
Aiken set the tone in the first-half with a goal and two assists. His inviting cross set up Robbie Hamilton for the opener early on in the first-half.
And the 2020 Academy graduate got his second assist before the break this time setting up 17-year-old striker O'Connor with a quality ball in from the right.

The hosts did threaten at the other end with towering French winger Alieau Faye hitting the post when clean through and Jonathan Moffat pulling one back with a powerful finish.
But Aiken made it 3-1 at half-time as he broke into the area and showed strong composure to beat home keeper Mac Whyte.

Hibs began the second-half in style as O'Connor stormed into the box and won a penalty which he confidently converted down the middle for 4-1.
As heavy rain descended Strollers got a spot kick of their own as 6'6 Faye cooly finished in the bottom right-hand corner to make it 4-2.
And the hosts then set up a nervy finish with trialist Joao Balde cutting the deficit to just one.
But O'Connor wrapped up the victory and completed his hat-trick late on after using his strength to break into the box before neatly passing the ball into the right corner from close range to round off an eight-goal thriller.
Around 250 Hibees made their way to Christie Gillies Park to watch their first match in over a year and it was great to see our fans back and in healthy numbers. Our sporting director Graeme Mathie and first-team coach David Gray were also in attendance.
Next up, the first-team squad have a behind-closed-doors game tomorrow at Hibernian Training Centre. Follow us on social media for more details from 1200 on Saturday.
