Kevin Nisbet will be flying the flag for Scotland and looking to add to the six caps and one goal he already has to his name.

The Tartan Army's first Qatar 2022 World Cup qualifying game is away to table-toppers Denmark on Wednesday 1 September (19:45 BST kick-off) in Copenhagen, before coming back to Hampden to face Moldova three days later (19:45 BST kick-off). Manager Steve Clarke ruled Nisbet out of the opening game with a knock picked up in training. The third and final match sees Clarke’s side travel to Austria on Tuesday 7 September for another qualifier, which again is a 19:45 BST kick-off.

Scotland currently sit second in the group stages after picking up five points from the first three games.

Three of our young Scots – Josh Doig, Daniel Mackay and James Scott – have also been called-up to the Under-21s squad.

The Hibs trio are set to begin their qualification bid for the UEFA European Under-21s Championships as they face Turkey in the Group I opener.

The game against Turkey will take place on Tuesday 7 September, 17:30 BST kick-off, at the Bursa Buyuksehir Stadium.

Scott (two caps) and Mackay (one cap) have already been part of Scotland’s U21s group, but this will be the first time for Josh Doig. The young left-back did receive a call-up back in May but had to withdraw due to injury.

Another first team player that’s been called up for international duty is Martin Boyle.

The winger was nominated for the Australian PFA Player of the Year award and has seven caps for his nation, scoring on three occasions.

The Socceroos face China in the Khalifa International Stadium (Doha, Qatar) on Thursday 2 September at 19:00 BST, before a game away at Vietnam five days later in a 13:00 BST kick-off. Both games are World Cup qualifiers.

Elsewhere, new loanee Nathan Wood could feature for England Under-20s against Romania on Monday 6 September (14:00 BST).

The final man called up for their nation is Alex Gogić. The energetic midfielder currently has seven caps to his name and could compete in their upcoming World Cup 2022 qualifiers.

The Cypriots have three games during the break. The first is away at Malta on Wednesday 1 September (19:45 BST kick-off) before a home tie to Russia just three days later (17:00 BST kick-off). The final game is away at Slovakia on Tuesday 7 September (19:45 BST kick-off).

Cyprus currently sit fourth in their World Cup qualifying group, having collected four points from their first three games.
