This is one of two games in hand that Ross’ side has on opponents ahead of them in the table as they look to shoot back up the league and challenge for a top four spot once again.

When speaking ahead of the game, our Manager discussed the clear aim he and his players have leading into the period ahead of the Premier Sports Cup Final.

“The inconsistent run results-wise, coupled with the inactivity, has meant we’ve dropped out of that top part of the table. It’s not about being top six, it’s about being top four for us.

“We know that if we get wins from the three games we’ve got in the next six days, then we put ourselves in a much healthier position; that’s the aim for us.

“It’s a clear aim for us but we certainly need to take advantage of these games in hand.”

Livingston currently sit 11th in the cinch Premiership, but put up a valiant fight against Hearts at the weekend. Ross explains what we expects from them.

“The nature of their surface makes the game quick. They’re a familiar opposition in terms of unit and personnel, so there’s no surprises in that regard.

“We’ve prepared for the threats they offer, but obviously we feel that we carry a threat to opposition that we showed at the weekend, then it’s about being ruthless in both boxes.”

His side will also be keen to get back to winning ways in the league and to build on the positive performance and result at St Johnstone in their last away game.

“All the league games in the Premiership are tough matches. We want to improve upon our record away from home, but we go into it off the back of winning at another tough away venue in Perth.

“We go into it with a positive frame of mind. The results are frustrating for us at the moment, but the performance levels have been better and stronger. We have to produce a performance like that tomorrow to come away with a positive result.”
