How did you become a Hibs fan?
I became a Hibs fan because of my dad, Alex. He was a massive supporter, like the rest of my family. I think my first game was in 1980. We were in the First Division, and I got a season ticket beside my dad in the centre-stand.
What’s been your favourite all-time Hibernian game?
Obviously the 21 May, 2016 and anytime we beat Hearts… but one that also stands out is Lewis Stevenson’s testimonial. I won a hospitality for that day and took my late dad. We were treated like absolute kings and sat with Scott Brown and his family! We met Lewis after the game. We both enjoyed the free booze, too!
Who’s your all-time favourite Hibernian player and why?
John Collins for me. He oozed class and I knew from an early age he was going to be someone very special in the game. A complete class act. I have to mention Scott Allan, though, for my two boys, Joey and Sean, they would never forgive me if not!

How did you keep your two lads entertained during the pandemic?
Lockdown was tough for us all, I guess, but we just tried to keep the boys active. They had zoom calls for fitness sessions with their teams – they both play football - and we would have zoom calls with friends. We were in the garden a lot as well and have a dog, so we were out a lot.
What was it like returning to Easter Road for the first time after such a long time away?
Coming back was so emotional. When we found out we were selected in the ballot it was like Christmas all over again! It helped that they put on a great first half against Ross County and we got to cheer three goals early on in our first visit back. I think Hibs are looking really good at the minute and I have a great feeling about this team. We are a joy to watch especially going forward. The pace we have through the whole team is frightening. Hopefully good times ahead.
What does Hibs mean to you?
Hibs means everything to me. As a proud ‘Leither’ Hibs play a huge part in mine and my family’s life. I went to games with my dad and his pals plus their kids now it’s me who meet my friends and along with all our kids we go along to watch them. Been there through the good times and the bad and it certainly is character building being a Hibs fan.
