Lifelong Hibees and tennis stars Andy and Jamie feature at the star-studded event, which is being held at the P&J Live Arena over Tuesday 21 and Wednesday 22 December.

The match is the brainchild of Jamie, who helped organise several 'Battle of the Brits' events during the pandemic which gave valuable practice to home players at times when tours were suspended.

Next month’s event will see Ally McCoist captain the Scotland team, which also features Cam Norrie and Jonny O’Mara.

They go up against an England side that includes Dan Evans, Kyle Edmund, Joe Salisbury, Neal Skupski and team captain Chris Sutton.

Aberdeen was chosen to host the event after successful tournaments at the LTA’s National Tennis Centre in Roehampton.

“I am super excited to bring live tennis to Scotland,” said Jamie Murray about the upcoming event.

“Andy and I have had some incredible experiences competing as part of Team GB in the Davis Cup in Scotland but to be able to represent Scotland is such a unique opportunity for us, especially against England.

“We want to build on the interest and legacy that Andy and to a lesser extent myself have created for tennis in Scotland and we want to give the Scottish people a great night out after what’s been a really difficult time for everyone."

Andy and Jamie come from a passionate Hibs-supporting family. Their mother Judy is a huge fan and recently visited HTC to watch one of Jack Ross’ sessions. Her father, Roy Erskine, played for the club during the 1950s.

The Battle Of The Brits: Scotland v England will comprise of six matches (four singles and two doubles) to be played over an intense 48-hour period. Two-time Wimbledon winner Andy Murray will compete in all three sessions.
