Martin Boyle was man of the match and stole the headlines after his 38-minute hat-trick fired us ahead. But afterwards, the team showed strength, resilience, and fight to book our place in the final against Celtic.
The first of Boyle’s hat-trick came early on. He was first to react from a corner and fired the ball in from close range. He then bagged a brace shortly after. He latched on to a through ball and placed the ball past the on-rushing Allan McGregor.
Rangers started to put us under a bit of pressure, but we were soon awarded a penalty kick after a superb break away. Steve Davis bundled over Boyle inside the area, who completed his hat-trick by smashing the ball down straight down the middle from the spot.
Moments later, Scott Arfield pulled one back. He curled the ball into the far corner of the net looking to give his side a chance.
In the second-half, we had to be resilient as Rangers looked to create openings, but we held firm.
The full-time whistle led to pandemonium in the Hibernian end and on the pitch, with the players celebrating with the fans.
