Goal 1: Colette Cavanagh vs Spartans.

Colette Cavanagh’s first of her two nominations on this list came against Spartans in Hibs’ opening SWPL 1 fixture this season. Shannon Leishman delivered a perfect first-time cross from the right-hand side into Spartans’ box which met Cavanagh, who consequently volleyed home with her first touch. The ball went in off the post, leaving Rachel Harrison with no chance.

This goal gave Hibs a 2-0 lead and took a lot of pressure off the side. Hibs would go on to score again in the match and earn all three points on the opening day.

Goal 2: Rachael Boyle vs Motherwell

With the score level at 0-0 against Motherwell, Hibs were awarded a freekick on the edge of the opposition’s box in the 23rd minute.

When Hibs’ number 23, Rachael Boyle, stepped up to take the freekick, it seemed certain that she was going to cross the ball for a teammate. To score from the angle seemed near-impossible, however, that did not stop Boyle.

The freekick was fired in from the edge of the box and nestled into the far corner. An incredible strike with expert precision.

Having taken the lead, Hibs carried this momentum and went on to score three more to earn a comfortable 4-0 victory.

Goal 3: Colette Cavanagh vs Celtic

Colette Cavanagh’s second nomination on this list came after Hibs had gone 1-0 down against Celtic and desperately needed to find a way back into the match. Thankfully, Cavanagh was there when it mattered. The forward won the ball in the midfield and from over 30 yards out, decided to try her luck from range. The incredible long shot from Cavanagh saw the ball fly into the back of the net to draw Hibs level.

The goal was struck with such power and precision that Rachael Johnstone in the Celtic net had no chance to save it. Further proving the point that Cav only scores screamers.

Goal 4: Eilidh Adams vs Hearts

Shortly before the 70th minute of the match, Eilidh Adams was subbed onto the field. With one of her first touches, she assisted Rachael Boyle to double Hibs’ lead and in the 80th minute, she scored to give Hibs a 3-0 lead.

Hibs worked the ball well down the left-hand side and it eventually came to the feet of Boyle thanks to an excellent line-breaking pass from Cavanagh. As Boyle ran through on goal, she chose to square the ball to Adams, which gave the striker an open goal to tap the ball into. This finished off an excellent team move that expectedly sent the crowd wild.

What made this goal more special was the fact it was scored in front of a record 5,512 fans at Easter Road.
