THE LOWDOWN

We’re looking to bounce back as quickly as possible following Saturday’s disappointing result and performance at home to Dundee United.

The defeat saw us drop out of the top four in the Scottish top-flight for the first time in over 40 matches.

Our opponents come into this game on the back of five straight league defeats. The latest was 2-1 away at Dundee FC.

TEAM NEWS

Jack Ross will be without Ryan Porteous, once again, following his red card against Rangers before the October international break.

Kyle Magennis wasn’t fit enough to feature against Dundee United on Saturday due to his injury issue, whilst Paul McGinn was also unavailable through injury.

Christian Doidge is making good progress and could return to training at the start of November, if his recovery continues to go well. Sean Mackie and Melker Hallberg are the other noticeable absentees.

THE HOSTS

Aberdeen currently sit ninth in the cinch Premiership table after taking eight points from their opening nine games.

They actually had an electric start to the season beating both Dundee United and Livingston in their opening two fixtures. However, they haven’t won a league game since that point.

Draws against Hearts and Ross County have added to their points tally, but they are now seven league games without a win.

Under the guidance of former player Stephen Glass, Aberdeen have been trying to play a free-flowing, passing style of football, which supporters can expect to see this weekend.

Their standout performer this year has been USA international Christian Ramirez (above). He’s bagged four goals in all competitions and set up one for his teammates. 18-year-old right-back Calvin Ramsay has the most assists to his name with three.

HEAD-TO-HEAD

A Christian Doidge goal sealed a 1-0 victory on our last visit to the Pittodrie; a win that sealed a third place finish in the cinch Premiership.

In what was our first clear opening of the game, a long ball from Darren McGregor was helped into the path of the Welsh striker, who gracefully hit his half-volley from outside the box into the net.

Aberdeen had their chances, but weren’t able to take them, as we set a club record 11th away win of the season.

After the game, Jack Ross told BBC Sport: “This achievement should not be downplayed. It's the first time since 2005 we have finished in that position. It's only the fifth time in my lifetime.

“We need to be a club that comes to venues like this and wins; that's what I want to do with Hibs. Coming here and winning to finish third feels fitting."

HOW TO WATCH

Tickets for the match have sold out.

SUPPORTER INFORMATION

Aberdeen expects their forthcoming home crowds to remain under the 10,000 threshold, which means that supporters will not be subject to the proof of vaccine scheme.

However, circumstances can change very quickly, so with that in mind we’d urge our supporters to carry a Covid Passport to all matches in Scotland to cover all eventualities.
