The right-back’s call up has come after Ryan Fraser, Kenny McLean and Nathan Patterson have all withdrawn from the squad.

This is the 30-year-old’s latest call-up to the national team, having been named in the squad, for the first time, by Steve Clarke for the double-header against Slovakia and Czech Republic last October, although, he didn’t feature in either game.

That means that McGinn is the second Hibee in the Scotland squad as they continue to fight to qualify for the World Cup in Qatar.

Tuesday’s match (7 September, 2021) is a vital one as the Scots are taking on Austria, who sit one place and just one point behind them. The match will kick-off in Vienna at 19:45 BST.

As we stand, Clarke’s side currently sit third, two points behind Israel after five qualifying games.
