The win at HTC on Friday, sees the team stay in second place just two points behind first with six games in hand.
The game nearly started off perfectly for our Hibees when a ball over the Hamilton defence was met by striker Ethan Laidlaw, who managed to get a shot on goal, however, it never challenged the ‘keeper.
Play continued with spells of possession from both sides, however, it was Hibs who created the best chances. A nice piece of play between Rudi Molotnikov and Oscar MacIntyre led to them finding Josh McCulloch who was able to get his shot away from just outside the box, but it was straight at the goalkeeper.
With just over 10 minutes gone, MacIntyre did very well to chest down a cross-field switch, after which he took the ball past his man and managed to get the ball into the box. The ball fell to Molotnikov who made no mistake, however his strike was ruled out by the offside flag.
Another brilliant chance fell the team’s way when once again, left wing-back MacIntyre played an impressive cross to the back post which was met by striker Connor Young whose shot was well saved by the Accies ‘keeper.
With five minutes to go before half-Time, Murray Aiken did well running with the ball and managed to cut it back to Molotnikov who was able to get his shot away but it was easily saved by the ‘keeper.

On the 49th minute, the Wee Hibees put themselves in front with Laidlaw doing extremely well running down the right flank and cutting the ball back to McCulloch. His first shot was blocked, but he made no mistake with the second.
With Hibs dominating the first 25 minutes of the second half, for a second it looked like they may be pegged back by their opponents when Accies’ Ryan One’s header was cleared just in front of the goal line by Hibs centre back Mack Weir.
With just 10 minutes left of the game, MacIntyre played yet another brilliant ball into the box, but unfortunately Aiken’s shot was just over the bar.
Our Wee Hibees saw the game out and ended the game just two points off league leaders Rangers, with six games in hand.
